黑龙江省八五九农场瓜农李显忠,经过8年的实验,研究出利用副蔓结瓜新技术,每年采收两批西瓜,产量和效益显著提高。与常规栽培技术相比,第一批主蔓西瓜可抢早15～20天上市,第二批副蔓西瓜可晚30天罢园。1988年,他种植的5亩西瓜总产2.4万千克,纯收入1.6万元。其主要技术是副蔓留瓜,具体措施如下:
