John Keats, one of William Faulkner’s favorite poets, had a significant influence on Faulkner’s “Ode to Greece”. By combining the beauty of the flow of the landscape with the stillness of the relief of the ancient urn, this poem gives the best dynamic results in moments of expression. Faulkner accepted Keats’s thought and borrowed the artistic skills of this poem in many works, both in the character shaping and value orientation. This essay is based on the structure and intension of Keats’s Greek Orthodox Urn Urn. Combining with the character traits of Faulkner’s characters and his comments on these characters, this essay shows the influence of this poem on his historical view.
