20世纪对于中国而言,是一个既漫长又短暂的时代。整个国家经受了长时间巨大的创痛,而西潮又将其迅速卷入到统一的世界史视野中,中国美术现代性的历史建构在全新的、变化着的社会情境中艰难进行。既有植入也有应对,既有融合也有抗衡,在变异中自觉地进行理论探索和艺术实践,走出了一条不同于西方美术现代性的中国美术现代性之路。如何看待和评价、理解和闸释这段历史,是研究中国现代美术首先面临和必须解决的根本问题。
The twentieth century was a long and epoch for China. The entire country has endured a long period of great pain, and the rapid influx of the entire world into a unified world history perspective. The historic construction of Chinese art’s modernity is struggling in a completely new and changing social context. Both implantation and response, both fusion and contend, in the variation consciously explore the theory and practice of art, out of a different from the western art of modern Chinese art of modernity. How to treat, evaluate, interpret and release this history is the fundamental issue for the study of Chinese modern art first and must be solved.
