Calcium is not only a large number of elements required for plant growth and development, but also plays a role in coupling the second messenger of extracellular and intracellular responses. It is the central part of the process of information transmission after receptor activation. In recent years, studies have shown that environmental stress such as high temperature, drought, touch, hypotonic, low temperature, wind, mechanical stimulation and pathogen infection can cause changes of cytoplasmic Ca2 + levels. This change is considered as one of the primary reactions of plant cells to environmental stress.
