A study published online in Nature - Genetics published a map of the virus integration site of human papilloma virus (HPV), the leading cause of cervical cancer. Virus integration is the process by which a virus inserts its own DNA into a host DNA, which is one of the major risk factors that cause cervical cancer after HPV infection. Ding Ma et al. Found 3667 HPV integration sites in more than 100 cervical cancer samples using high-throughput virus integration assays.
