Thirty years ago, in the midst of the “cultural revolution,” the frenzy of martial arts swept the land of China. At the time of academic research basically at a standstill, if there is any “research”, then it is to study “the struggle of Confucianism.” In Pei County Library, which was sequestered in Jiangsu Province, an excerpt from a collection of art books was drafted by a group of educated youth who had written an art history essay entitled Wu Daozi’s Painting Style. In 1978, at the recommendation of Zhou Jianyin, a teacher at Nanjing Arts Institute, this article was published in the “Art Gallery” of Nanjing Art Institute.
