詹姆斯.韦尔奇是印第安文艺复兴时期脱颖而出的印第安裔作家,被认为是印第安文学四大巨匠之一。《血中冬季》(1974)是其第一部小说,主人公是一个文化身份缺失的印第安人。本文通过主人公身份重构的“归家之旅”探讨作者解决当代都市印第安人生存困境的理想化途径。
James Welch, an Indo-Asian writer who stood out from the Indian Renaissance, is considered one of the four great masters of Indian literature. Winter in Blood (1974) is its first novel, the protagonist is a Native American with a lack of cultural identity. This paper attempts to explore the author’s ideal route to solve the predicament of contemporary urban Indian living through the “journey home” which is reconstructed through the hero’s identity.
