泰州市是1996年8月新组建的地级市,全市常住人口500万人,其中60岁以上的老年人有72.94万人,占人口总数的14.78％。为积极适应老龄社会的发展要求,近几年来,我们认真贯彻《中共中央、国务院关于加强老龄工作的决定》和《江苏省委、省政府关于贯彻<决定>的意见》文件精神,以《中华人民共和国老年人权益保障法》为依据,紧紧围绕“六个老有”目标,加强四级老年维权网络建设,切实维护老年人的合法权益,努力推进老龄事业的发展。
