China had more than 2 600 pesticidemanufacturers in 2009, which togetherproduced 2.26 million tons of active pesticideingredients (source from China’sNational Bureau of Statistics, which possiblycontains pesticide formulations).But China’s domestic annual consumptionhas remained about 300 000 tons(pesticide active ingredients) in recentyears. Such a great output/consumptionratio forces Chinese pesticide producersto export their products to overseas
