Landing gear has become Héroux-Devtek’s most important product in the aerospace market. Héroux-Devtek said the new contract is the company’s largest contract in the undercarriage industry. In September 2013, the two companies signed a memorandum of understanding. Delivery of the product will begin in early 2017 and the contract may be extended to 2028. UTC has been a supplier of the Boeing 777 landing gear since its acquisition of Goodrich in 2012. But Boeing did not make it clear that HérouxDevtek has now replaced UTC. Héroux-Devtek said it has received notice from UTC Aerospace Systems that it initiated an arbitration on an outstanding contract between Goodletts and a subsidiary of HérouxDetetek and questioned the rights of Héroux-Devtek to manufacture the landing gear rod.
