In the early postwar period, the first Chinese research institution active in Japan in Japan was the China Institute (referred to as China Research Institute). It was established in January 1946 and consisted of personnel, journalists and left-wing people who worked at the Manchurian Iron and Steel Research Institute during the war. It is their duty to introduce and promote the actual situation of the Chinese revolution and new China to Japanese nationals. With regard to the situation in New China, the guidelines of the Chinese Communist Party, and Mao Zedong Thought and other information, except that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the outreach groups collected and sorted out as internal materials, by the first half of the 1950s a large proportion of the materials introduced by the Chungking Institute contributed to the promotion of Japanese nationals’ As far as the understanding and concern of New China are concerned, the role played by China Studies can be described as no small.
