戏曲在为实现四个现代化的伟大进军服务的过程中,单靠演出老戏是不够的。老戏中有许多精采的东西,应该经过整理、改编、改写,让它们在舞台上继续发出光彩,供工农兵欣赏。但是,老戏虽然丰富,在数量上终是有限的,其中有些即使经过改写,其思想水平最高也只能停留在民主主义范畴之内。任何剧种,如果没有新的剧目不断充实和更新自己的武库,仅仅靠遗产过日子,坐吃山空,这个剧种的日子是很难指望越过越好的。 It is not enough for the theatricals to act alone in the process of serving the great march of the four modernizations.
