Objective To observe the effects of brown fat removal on body fat and blood lipids in obese mice induced by high fat diet. Methods Twenty-two male C57BL / 6J mice aged 4-5 weeks were randomly divided into two groups: sham operation group and control group. Eleven rabbits in each group were fed with high fat diet for 16 weeks postoperatively. The body weight, body fat, Lee’s index, feed consumption, food efficiency and blood lipid difference of the two groups were observed. Results At the end of the study, body weight, body fat mass, Lee’s index and triglyceride concentrations were significantly higher in the brown adiposity mice than in the control group (P <0.05), and the food-to-fat ratio in the brown fat-removed group was significantly lower The operation control group (P <0.05), there was no significant difference between the two groups in dietary consumption and energy intake (P> 0.05). Conclusion In the case of brown fat removal, mice fed high-fat diet had increased fat accumulation, increased obesity and increased blood triglyceride concentration, suggesting that brown fat in mice may play a role in preventing the occurrence of obesity.
