From 1982 to 2005, the U.S. primary energy self-sufficiency rate continued to drop from 91.1% to a historical low of 69.2%. Since 2006, however, the U.S. primary energy self-sufficiency rate has started to rise again and has returned to 78% in 2011. With the great development of shale gas, a “game changer,” the U.S. energy independence strategy is being steadily pushed forward. From now until 2035, the U.S. energy self-sufficiency rate will gradually increase, reaching a level of nearly 90%. The only foreign dependence on oil is oil, but even so, by 2035, the U.S. self-sufficiency rate of oil and other liquid fuels will exceed 60%. Just out of energy self-sufficiency
