This article mainly introduces the creative process of Sino-British cooperation ShangPool (www.shang-pool.com) art project jointly sponsored by Shanghai University of Art Institute Virtual Laboratory and Liverpool John Moores University. The works are in the form of an audience in the control room navigating through the online virtual world Second-Life by using paddles with integrated motion sensors and real-time control of virtual ships via the Internet. The audience paddled boats, exposure to reality and the virtual blend of the world, experience the experience of paradise like Wonderland. The significance of this project is to connect the two friendly cities of Shanghai and Liverpool so that the people of both places can see the two places in real time. This work belongs to mixed reality art, which is an open art work. Artists create virtual media through computers. Audiences enter the virtual space for experience. During the experience, audiences interact with virtual media. The interactive process is essentially a re-creation of the artwork As the process continues to change, the work of art is constantly changing, and the audience’s experience of work of art is constantly changing. The definition of the work of art itself no longer depends on its physical boundary (form), and more Its formation process (concept), which is a good embodiment of digital interactive art into public space.
