The book author Rana Mitter is a Bangladeshi British scholar who is currently a professor of politics and history in modern China at Oxford University. In 2007, he founded the China Anti-Japanese War Research Center of Oxford University and is a new-generation Chinese anti-war history research expert in the western world. In the book, from the broad perspective of World War II, the author overlooks the current Chinese battlefield.
