传统的叙事学研究基本上是停留在语言层面上,忽视了对于叙事过程中叙事者和听者的认知心理研究。转喻是一种概念现象和认知过程,人们选择一个喻体为认识本体提供心智可及性。在构建小说的过程中,作者会用自己的转喻选择语言,读者在理解小说时也会用自己的转喻对小说进行理解。这样就可以实现小说和所指世界的一致。我们认为研究叙事者和读者的认知心理能够使我们从更深的层次上宏观地认识小说叙事。本文运用概念转喻理论分析《水浒传》小说叙事中的转喻现象,探讨了转喻在事件表征,人物命名以及人物和情景描写方面所具有的作用。小说叙事和概念转喻的结合促进了叙事研究和概念转喻研究的共同发展,也加深我们对于这两个领域的理解。
The traditional study of narratology basically stays at the linguistic level, ignoring the cognitive psychology of narrators and listeners in the narrative process. Metonymy is a conceptual phenomenon and cognitive process, people choose a metaphor for the cognitive body to provide mental accessibility. In the process of constructing a novel, the author selects the language with his own metonymy, and the reader understands the novel with his own metonymy when he understands the novel. This will make it possible for the novel to agree with the world to which it refers. We think that studying the cognitive psychology of the narrator and the reader enables us to understand the narration of the novel macroscopically from a deeper level. This paper analyzes metonymic phenomena in the narrative of “Outlaws of the Marsh” by using concept metonymy theory and discusses the role of metonymy in event representation, character naming and character and scene description. The combination of fictional narrative and conceptual metonymy promotes the common development of narrative research and metonymic research and deepens our understanding of both.
