改革十几年来,我国的经济建设取得了很大进展,人民生活得到了相应改善。然而,与之形成巨大反差的是社会主义精神文明建设出现了明显滑坡。人们的政治观念、社会责任感普遍淡薄,拜金主义、享乐主义、极端个人主义日益泛滥;党的凝聚力、感召力以及人们对党信任程度明显下降;一些在建国后早已绝迹的丑恶社会现象又死灰复燃。这些问题,引起了我们党和社会有识之士的高度重视。我们也曾采取种种措施,但效果都不理想。原因何在呢?我们认为除了在物质文明和精神文明建设这二者关系的摆布上曾一度发生倾斜外,一个重要原因,就是在精神文明建设中没有旗帜鲜明地、始终一贯地坚持共产主义思想的指导 In the past decade or so since the reform was over, great progress has been made in our economic construction and the people’s life has been correspondingly improved.
