高分辨率层序地层学是近几年来层序地层学中崛起的新学派，在引用和发展前人研究成果的基础上，以全新的思路系统地提出了诸多层序地层学的新概念、新方法、新模式。运用该理论体系能增加层序地层分析的分辨率，建立高精度的储层格架和储层的三维建造，从而可有效地提高储层描述和储层模拟的合理性，指导油气勘探与开发。
