1978—1984年在南京地区试验结果表明,棉花从营养生长转向果枝花芽分化需要一定的条件:(1)最低临界日均温19℃以上,适温20—22℃以上;(2)不同播期活动积温需416.9—638.9℃,有效积温200.9—338.4℃。播期愈迟,需积温愈少。适播的需积温数较少;(3)对日照长度要求不严,对太阳辐射能反应较敏感;(4)果枝花芽分化前,以子叶面积和干重为主,真叶面积和干重中,以第一真叶为主,且功能期较长,为分化前(即三叶前)主要的有机营养供应者。经去叶试验佐证,去子叶和第一真叶的对棉苗从营养生长转向生殖生长的影响最为明显。
