才子佳人小说是清代小说史上一类值得注意的现象，近年来，在对其逐步展开的研究中，清前期的创作常被论述，而后期的创作往往被忽略。其作为一种小说类型，必然有特定的类型特征，且在不同的历史环境下，社会各方面因素的作用又会使之同中见异。因此将其对比研究很有意义。
