During 1987~1988,an 8GHz rural telephone transmission system had been developed by NEDI, including a micro wave receiver-transmitter,70MHz voice channel modulator-demodulator and their accessary power supplies and utilizing many NEDI made GaAs FET devlces and microwave integrated components with high reliability and less energy consumption. The microwave receiver-transmitter is constructed in a hermetical can and mounted on the back of an attenna and other parts are placed indoors. Shown in the front cover is a pictureof an outdoor equipment of this system. It can work by means of point-to-point or a relay,and has features of low power consumption, high reliability, good capability of working at -40℃ and Iow cost, which are specially suitable for contryside and large enterprises.
