广州抽水蓄能电站水泵水轮机的最大入力和最大出力分别为326.08MW和347.70MW。蜗壳的最大工作水头加水锤压力为775m,最大过流量为72.2m~3/s。蜗壳在浇筑混凝土前进行水压试验。试验水压为最大工作水头与水锤压力之和的1.5倍(114×10~5Pa),蜗壳钢板的厚度达35~80mm,座环组合焊缝厚度达40~90mm,为了保证这种特厚钢板和焊缝的焊接质量,采用了特殊的安装工艺和措施。
