Compared with 2009, the total value of mineral products in the United States in 2010 increased by about 9%. This means that the non-energy mining industry in the United States, especially the metal mining industry, is gradually recovering from the financial crisis that began in December 2007. According to the Bureau of Mineral Resources Statistics Annual Report of the United States, the total value of non-energy mineral resources mined by the United States in 2010 reached 64 billion U.S. dollars, compared with 59 billion U.S. dollars in 2009. A substantial increase in the amount of mineral resources exploitation is bound to affect the price of mineral products in the United States and abroad.
