从起初的一本诗集,到如今的学术研究性图书馆,一百多年来,哈佛燕京图书馆藏书已超过140万册,拥有中文、日文、韩文、越南文、满蒙藏文等丰富藏书,其中中文图书836523册,包括中文善本和珍稀书约4000本,以其质量之高、数量之丰著称,为众多优秀学者所向往。在哈佛大学,坐落着一个赫赫有名的图书馆——哈佛燕京图书馆。这里收藏着八十多万册中文图书,其中的善本古籍特藏,以其质量之高、数量之大享誉世界。可以说,这里是西方世界最大、最好的中国善本收藏地之一。
