Portman hosted a meeting of ministers of the WTO on the same day in Zurich, Switzerland, inviting more than 20 trade ministers and officials from more than a dozen major WTO members including the EU, Australia, Brazil, India, China, Canada and Japan Minister, and proposed the new U.S. proposal at the meeting. According to this proposal, the United States will cut its agricultural subsidies by 60%.
