Zengguo is a very important vassal state in the Jianghan Basin, but there are few historical documents. So far, the bronze vessels of Zeng State have been concentrated in three areas: the upper reaches of Zhanghe River in northern Jingshan, the middle reaches of Rolling River in central-southern Zaoyang, and the middle and upper reaches of Suizhou. [1] These areas belong to the territory of the former kingdom. There are sporadic unearthed areas outside this area. Utensil age began in the late Western Zhou Dynasty, at the latest about the middle of the Warring States Period, before the Western Zhou Dynasty has not been found. The bronze of the Tseng Dynasty came after the early Spring and Autumn Period. With the expansion of Chu culture, the shape of the prototype became more representative. Therefore, this article analyzes the bronze unearthed and handed down in the area of Zenggu and gradually explores the evolvement and style characteristics of the artifact era.
