辽东湾坳陷位于渤海东北部海域,为渤海湾盆地一个次级构造单元,是下辽河坳陷在海域的延伸部分。郯庐断裂新生代右行走滑运动控制了该区NE走向“三凹两凸”的构造格局。自西向东可划分为辽西凹陷、辽西凸起、辽中凹陷、辽东凸起、辽东凹陷(徐长贵,2009)。前人对辽东湾坳陷构造演化及沉积充填特征等方面的深入研究认为,自下而上可划分为古近系、新近系,在新生代经历了古近系裂陷和新近系-第四系后裂陷两个阶段。其中,古近系构造演化可划分为三个阶段:即古新统-始新统
The Liaodong Bay depression is located in the northeastern Bohai Sea. It is a secondary structural unit in the Bohai Bay Basin and is an extension of the lower Liaohe Depression in the sea. The Cenozoic right-lateral strike-slip movement of the Tan-Lu fault controls the tectonic framework of NE trending “three concave and two convex ” in this area. From west to east, it can be divided into western Liaoning Province, western Liaoning Province, Central Liaoning Province, Liaodong Province and Liaodong Depression (Xu Changgui, 2009). The previous studies on the tectonic evolution and sedimentary filling characteristics of the Liaodong Bay depression suggest that they can be divided into Paleogene and Neogene facies from the bottom up and experienced Paleogene rifting and Neogene facies in the Cenozoic - Department after the rift in two stages.
