It is not easy to determine the right ventricular myocardial oxygen extraction and the complex morphology of the right ventricle, making the assessment of right ventricular oxidative metabolism is limited. In view of ~ (11) C clearance rate is closely related to myocardial oxygen consumption, assuming that the right ventricular free wall ~ (11) C clearance rate also reflects its oxygen consumption, the 21 patients with aortic valve disease in the right ventricle ~ (11) C clearance rate versus right ventricular load to evaluate the value of this noninvasive technique for detecting right ventricular oxidative metabolism. In all of these patients, the ~ (11) C clearance constant was associated with the product of pulmonary artery systolic pressure and heart rate (r = 0.65, P = 0.002); if 2 patients were excluded
