This study focuses on the translation of English-Chinese idioms, which are considered hardly correspondent to each other either semantically, or syntactically, to expound and verify the untranslatability in English-Chinese idiom translation. Under the different cultural background or structures of some idioms, translating work is impossible if the different "images" and "structures" of the idioms in the source language are not given up to transmit the basic meaning. Thus, strategies are suggested in this paper in order to deal with this situation of unequivalence between English and Chinese idioms.
