20世纪60年代发展起来的华裔美国文学与亚裔美国文学一起,被很多学者称为美国文学中“新冒现”的文学分支,但就是这个在短短的几十年中发展起来的文学分支却引发了东、西方学术界对一些文学学术热点问题的重新思考,其中之一就是华裔美国文学对美国主流文学的改写和对文学经典的重构。本文将对这个问题展开讨论,力图说明这个新的文学分支的成功,以及它对美国主流文学史的改写和对文学经典的重构并不像有些批评者所说的那样,是因“迎合了白人读者胃口”而取得的、带有很大偶然性的成功。该现象蕴藏着深层的学理原因,它反映了文学史、文学经典发展的一些必然规律。
Chinese American literature developed in the 1960s, along with Asian American literature, was described by many scholars as a “new-founding” literary branch of American literature, but it was this literary branch that developed in just a few decades However, it has caused the re-thinking of some academic hot issues in the East and West academic circles. One of them is the rewriting of the American mainstream literature and the reconstruction of the literary classics by Chinese American literature. This article will discuss this issue in an attempt to illustrate the success of this new literary branch and its rewriting of the mainstream American literary history and the reconstruction of the literary canon as some critics have suggested that “ White readers appetite ”and achieved, with a great chance of success. This phenomenon contains deep reason reason, which reflects some inevitable laws of literary history and literary classics development.
