Oxidative stress-active intermediates, such as hydrogen peroxide, nitrous oxide anions, lipid peroxidation products malondialdehyde and tetrahydroxynonenal, are both cellular signal regulatory molecules and cytotoxic effectors. They can attack the body of biological macromolecules, leading to DNA, protein or lipid damage, thereby affecting cell signaling, and thus determine the fate of cells. Research shows that active intermediates and a variety of diseases, and even aging are closely related. Therefore, in the study of diseases related to aging and aging, the generation of active intermediates and their downstream target of modification have become the focus of exploring the progressive death of cells.
