China’s imports will hit the US1-trillion mark in three years, Minister of Commerce Lu Fuyuan told the fifth Economic Ministers’ Meeting (EMM5) of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) which ended on July 24. He said that from 1996 to 2001, it took China six years to notch up US1 trillion in imports; and then five years- -from 1998 to 2002- to reach the figure, illustrating the expanding pace of imports.
