Rumor is a common social phenomenon, but its “psychological black box” in the process of communication still lacks exploration. Based on the theory of emotion evaluation, this paper uses control experiments to investigate the impact of unfair rumor and rumor behavior on risk perception evaluation and emotion through the simulation of genetically modified foods. The results showed as follows: (1) Emotions generated by GMO could be divided into consequence and ethics; (2) unfairness would lead to stronger ethical and consequence sentiment, and subjects tended to overestimate the risk of transgenics; (3) The rumor can play a certain role in the evaluation of the risk of GMO, but it can not completely nullify the rumor’s influence on emotion.
