●2005年底全国1％人口抽样显示,我国65岁以上人口达到10055万人,占总人口数的7．7％。按照老龄化评判标准,我国已成为人口老龄化国家。●人口学家预测,2010年我国人口总数将为13.39亿,2040年达到顶峰14．91亿后开始下降。与此同时,65岁以上老年人口2010年为1．12亿、2040年达到3．12亿后仍将继续上升。这一升一降将使中国面临人口老龄化的严峻挑战。
● By the end of 2005, a sample of 1% of the population in China showed that there were 100.55 million people over the age of 65 in our country, accounting for 7.7% of the total population. According to the criteria of aging, our country has become an aging population. ● Demographers predict that by 2010 China’s total population will be 1.339 billion and will start to decline after reaching a peak of 1.491 billion in 2040. In the meantime, the number of elderly people over the age of 65 will reach 112 million in 2010 and will continue to rise after reaching 312 million in 2040. This rise and fall will pose a serious challenge to China’s aging population.
