Objective To understand the relationship between endocrinologists and T2DM patients with diabetes and periodontitis. Methods To investigate the relationship between diabetes and periodontitis in two groups of people in the form of personal interviews and questionnaires. The data and interviews were used to support the analysis of the results. Results The correct rate of cognition of oral health care in T2DM patients was 1.5% -40.2%. The periodontitis group and the non-periodontal group could influence the blood glucose level in periodontitis, and improve the periodontitis to prevent diabetes effectively. There was significant difference in cognition (P <0.05). 85.9% of patients said they would take the initiative to pay attention to the problem after being explicitly informed of the relationship between diabetes and periodontitis. Endocrinologist periodontitis attention rate, asking rates were 13% and 3.8%. Conclusions There is a general lack of cognition on the relationship between diabetes and periodontitis in T2DM patients. Endocrinologists are also lack of attention. Both doctors and patients should improve the cognition of the coexistence of diabetes mellitus and periodontitis, and improve diagnosis and treatment strategies and procedures to improve patients Quality of Life.
