在列方程(组)解实际问题时,经常涉及的量较多,量与量之间的关系不太明显,直接设未知数就不容易解决问题,此时需要设一些辅助未知数,把那些不明显的数量关系表示出来.在求解的过程中,我们可以根据方程(组)的特点,灵活变形,不求出辅助未知数的值,而是把辅助未知数巧妙消去,从而得到问题的解答.我们称这种方法为“设而不求”.
