Objective To determine the effect of hyperglycemia on the prognosis of patients with severe craniocerebral injury. Methods A total of 84 patients with severe craniocerebral injury who underwent the craniotomy without injury and significant extracranial injury were retrospectively analyzed. The Glasgow Outcome Scale (GOS) was assessed 6 months after injury. According to GOS, 84 patients were divided into good prognosis group and poor prognosis group, and the relationship between blood glucose and prognosis was analyzed. Results Good prognosis of post-injury blood glucose was lower than the poor prognosis group, the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P <0.05). Conclusion Hyperglycemia after severe craniocerebral injury can be used as an easy index to predict the prognosis in the early stage.
