  escape 逃掉了!
  v. n. 逃避,逃脱,避免
  There is not the smallest chance of his escape.
  他一点逃走的机会也没有。
  He escaped doing housework. 他逃避做家务。
  【巧辨】
  escape, avoid
  这两个动词都有“躲避”之意。
  escapeto get free from something, or to avoid something 多指避开实际的威胁,暗示威胁或危险正在迫近。
  avoidto stay away from someone or something, or prevent something from happening or not allow yourself to do something 侧重指有意识地躲避开要冒险或有危险的事物或情况。
  Two prisoners have escaped. 两个囚犯逃跑了。
  She was lucky to escape serious injury. 她很幸运,没有受重伤。
  
  educate 教育了我
  v. 教育;训练;培养
  You should educate your children to mind their manners. 你应该教育孩子注意行为举止。
  The boy had to educate himself in the evening after finishing his work. 这男孩完成工作之后晚上还得自修。

  这些动词均含“教,教育,培养”之意。
  educate to teach someone, especially using the formal system of school, college or university 较正式用词,内容比teach广泛,尤其指学校里的正规教育,侧重动机、结果或对潜力的开发。
  teachto give someone knowledge or to train someone 最普通用词,含义广泛。指直接教某人知识或技能等,侧重传播知识和帮助应用知识。
  instructto teach someone how to do something与teach含义很接近,但语体较正式。指系统、详细、精心地传播知识,侧重教授与指示。
  trainto prepare or be prepared for a job, activity or sport, by learning skills and/or by mental or physical exercise 指为了获得某种技能而进行的专门性的训练与培养。
  he was educated in Africa. 他是在非洲受的教育。
  She taught English to foreign students. 她教外国学生英语。

  fearan unpleasant emotion or thought that you have when you are frightened or worried by something dangerous, painful or bad that is happening or might happen 普通用词,侧重指面临危险或灾祸时内心所引起的恐惧心情。
  frightthe feeling of fear, especially if felt suddenly, or an experience of fear which happens suddenly 通常指一阵突然的、令人震惊的短暂恐惧,有时含夸张意味。
  horroran extremely strong feeling of fear and shock, or the frightening and shocking character of something 侧重指因看到令人讨厌或危险的东西或情景而引起的厌恶情绪、极度恐惧的心情或战栗的动作。

  I have a fear of heights. 我有恐高症。

  selectto choose a small number of things, or to choose by making careful decisions 书面用词,具有庄严、正式的感情色彩,强调按照一定标准精选。
  chooseto decide what you want from two or more things or possibilities 普通用词,侧重根据个人意愿和判断从众多的对象中进行选择,着重被选者的优点。
  electto decide on or choose, especially to choose a person for a particular job, by voting 指按照一定的规章或法律,用投票等方式进行的认真慎重的选择。
  preferlike, choose or want one thing rather than another强调个人偏好,不一定有选择的行动。
  They were selected from many applicants. 他们是从许多报名者当中选出来的。
  Danny, come here and choose your ice cream. 丹尼,来这儿挑你的冰淇淋。

  debateserious discussion of a subject in which many people take part侧重指意见对立的双方正式或公开的争辩。
  argueto speak angrily to someone, telling them that you disagree with them指提出理由或证据为己方看法或立场辩护,着重说理、论证和企图说服。
  quarrelto have an angry disagreement with someone指两人之间或两个团体之间不友好的、吵吵嚷嚷地大声争论某事,尤指“吵嘴、吵架”。
  discussto talk about a subject with someone and tell each other your ideas or opinions最常见用词,指就某一或某些问题表明观点、看法等,以便统一认识,解决问题。
  Education is the center of public debate. 教育是公众辩论的中心。
  The children are always arguing. 孩子们总在争吵。
  They quarreled about/over money three years ago and they haven’t spoken to each other since. 他们在三年前为钱激烈争吵,至今没有说过话。
