广西籍作家凤子从女性视角留下了国统区大后方的乱世生活剪影,特别是表现出了一个女作家对大后方女性在这一特定时期所显示出的新变动的高度自觉和敏感。她对大后方女性身上新变动的书写正是对新文学女性书写的呼应、延续和对接。如果以新文学第一个十年中鲁迅创作的关于女性的小说作参照,我们会更清晰地看到这种新文学链的衔接,由此把握凤子小说对大后方女性书写之于中国现代文学图景的填补。
