Sixteen Japanese big-eared white male rabbits underwent bilateral vasectomy. The animals were sacrificed at 16, 22, and 28 months after operation. The testicular sections were stained with HE and observed by a microscope. Most of the seminiferous tubules returned to a normal spermatogenesis process. There were no obvious abnormalities in sperm cell morphology at all levels, and a spotted ginger was visible. Shrinking fine tubules, surrounded by connective tissue, with infiltration of lymphocytes and plasma cells. PAP staining showed that the seminiferous tubules in the process of normal spermatogenesis were negatively stained, and the atrophic seminiferous tubules were positively stained with the basement membrane. It is suggested that the atrophy of seminiferous tubules after vasectomy is related to immune damage.
