Using a servo hydraulic material test machine system (MTS88010) , tensile experiments of glass-cloth/epoxy laminates at moderate strain rates (1/s) were carried out under different temperatures. The curves of stressstrain have been measured. The Youngs modulus, tensile strength and Poissons ratio of the laminates have been obtained.A study of failure process for the laminates under different conditions has also been conducted. The experiment results show that the dynamic response of the laminates is clearly dependent upon temperatures and strain rates and there exists dynamic toughness in the laminates.A design method of tensile sample of composite laminates has been reported.According to the experimental results, a constitutive equation of glass-cloth/epoxy laminates is developed, and with which strain rate dependence and thermosoftening effect of the laminates can be described.
