Objective To observe the bone mineral density (BMD) and osteoporosis in patients with diabetic nephropathy, and to explore the correlation between renal function and osteoporosis in diabetic patients. Methods A total of 124 type Ⅱ diabetic patients who came to our hospital from February 2009 to February 2010 were enrolled in this study. All patients were diagnosed with diabetic nephropathy by clinical diagnosis. The patients were divided into four groups according to the condition of renal dysfunction. The clinical biochemical indexes of osteoporosis group and non-osteoporosis group were compared by measuring the occurrence of osteoporosis in different parts of the group. Relevance of loose conditions. Results The incidence of osteoporosis (OP) in the four groups was significantly different (P <0.05). The bone mineral density decreased significantly with the worsening renal dysfunction. The creatinine value, Cr value, AKP and BMI index of osteoporosis group and non-osteoporosis group were significantly different, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). Conclusion There is a positive correlation between renal dysfunction and osteoporosis in diabetic patients.
