作为认知语义学的范畴,隐喻是人类用一个领域的经验来说明或理解另一领域的认知活动。人类的隐喻学习有超过两千年的历史,但长期以来隐喻被赋予修辞的功能。如今,隐喻学习已经打破修辞学的界限且被认作是人类认知活动基本模式。本文从语言教学角度,论述了隐喻理论在帮助学生理解一词多义、习语等词汇中的运用。教师通过在教学中活用隐喻理论,有助于增大学生词汇量,提高学生的学习效果。
As a category of cognitive semantics, metaphor is the human experience of one field to illustrate or understand the cognitive activities of another field. Human metaphor has a history of more than two thousand years, but metaphor has long been given the rhetorical function. Today, metaphor learning has broken the boundaries of rhetoric and is considered as the basic model of human cognitive activity. This essay discusses the application of metaphor theory in helping students to understand polysemy, idioms and other words from the perspective of language teaching. By using metaphor theory in teaching, teachers can help increase students ’vocabulary and improve students’ learning effectiveness.
