Comprehensive application of geographic information systems and epidemiological methods to achieve from the thematic map access to environmental information for the macro study of schistosomiasis. Univariate analysis showed that the distribution of Oncomelania snails was related to precipitation, sunshine duration and air temperature. Multivariate analysis showed that the annual precipitation was 1500-1600 mm or annual sunshine duration was in the range of 2000-2100 h, which was in favor of snail survival. In 1600 ~ 1700h area, it is not conducive to the survival of snails. The uniqueness of geographic information systems in spatial display and analysis makes them an intuitive and fast tool for studying schistosomiasis and its influencing factors
