As the literary master of the Qing Dynasty, Liu Shiying’s companion book Jiulijulu slightly compiled during the Tongzhi years was rarely seen in the world, so little was known about it as that it was merely a miscellaneous book describing the style of the town and no discovery was found Its true value. In fact, this book is not only an authentic chronicle of the history of Shengjing (Shenyang), but also an ecstasy book that is different from the official’s book. Since this book holds many valuable historical materials and becomes an important supplement to the official book, it occupies an important position in the history of the local culture of Shenyang: it is the earliest recorded book in Shenyang, and Liu Shiying himself became Shenyang Private compilation of the first person.
