春夏秋冬一年四季,上海市民都能吃到新鲜的甘蓝。甘蓝周年生产、周年供应的目标已经达到了。这一目标的实现,凝集了科研工作者的心血,上海市农业科学院园艺所副研究员施维钧和她的甘蓝育种课题组,为此奋斗了20余年,作出了重要的贡献。从70年代起她们相继育成了11月至翌年2月上市的寒光甘蓝;4至5月上市的争春甘蓝;6月上市的105×黄苗甘蓝;7至11月上市的夏光甘蓝,基本完成了甘蓝周年生产的杂优品种配套。1992年施维钧和她的甘蓝育种课题组又成功地选育出初春和超夏两个甘蓝新品种(已通过专家验收)。初春甘蓝耐寒性特强,2至3月份上市,比常规品种四月慢甘蓝增产40%以上;超夏甘蓝耐热性超过夏光甘蓝,增产效果极为显著,是夏光甘蓝的更新换代品种。
