教师是太阳底下最伟大的事业,这种说法的原因不仅仅是指教师的授业,主要指育人,一位好教师不只是影响一代人,在三十多年的讲台生涯中可能要涉及到几代人,所以德性素质是教师专业素质结构中的重要组成部分,对教师专业发展起到“方向性”(即“定向”)作用。教师专业发展中的德性素质的基本要素有:爱与关心、责任、公平公正、幸福感等。爱与关心既是教育的一个古老话题,又是一个常谈常新的话题。自古至今,几乎所有的教育家都把爱与关心视为教育的首要信条、教师德性素质的首要品质。
