Objective: To investigate the relationship between sensory disturbance and somatosensory evoked potential (SEP) abnormalities in patients with cerebrovascular disease (CVD). METHODS: SEP was performed in 28 patients with CVD, 28 patients with dyskinesia, and 10 normal controls. Results: The central conduction time (CCT) in sensory disturbance group was longer than that in non - affected and normal controls (P <0.05). Sensory dysfunction group N20-P25 and P15 amplitude ratio abnormalities were significantly higher than those without sensory disturbances. Conclusion: The sensory disturbance of CVD is closely related to the abnormality of SEP, and SEP can be used as an objective index to judge the presence of sensory disturbance during CVD
