新密市位于郑州市西南部,地处豫西山丘区向豫东平原的过度地带,境内山岭起伏,沟壑纵横。总面积1001km2,其中山丘区面积830km2,占总面积的80％以上,是一个水土流失和缺水都很严重的县级市。地理上为三面环山的闭合流域,地下水和地表水基本无外援,年可成生水资源量1.466亿m3,人均水资源占有量194m3,属水资源严重匮乏区。
Xinmi City, located in the southwest of Zhengzhou City, is located in the western part of Henan Province to the Yudong Plain over the strip, the territory of mountain ups and downs, ravines aspect. The total area of 1001km2, of which the hill area of 830km2, accounting for more than 80% of the total area, is a soil erosion and water shortage are serious county-level cities. Geographically, it is a closed basin surrounded by mountains on three sides. There is basically no groundwater and surface water. There are 146.6 million m3 of water available annually and 194 m3 of water per capita, which is a serious shortage of water resources.
